GOLD for Paul

Central Crane Technicians’ Paul Sheppard gains his GOLD engineer accreditation from the FASSI Training Academy.

GOLD certified engineers are the master technicians of the FASSI service network. They are experienced practitioners in the diagnosis & repair of the FX500, FX900 & FSC systems. Being experienced engineers they have qualified for, & attained, ALLMI Thorough Examiner & Load Test accreditation.

Graduation to GOLD engineer is our highest accolade & takes 2-3 years because the engineer must demonstrate mastery of all the skills required to our coach, Ken West. Nothing great should ever come easy!

Class of ’21

2021 has been busy for Ken West & the FASSI Training Academy with 20 engineer accreditations awarded.

We are pleased to have signed off a further five GOLD service engineers nationally, our highest accolade.

Our academy is 10% training & 90% coaching to ensure the engineer can actually implement what they have been taught. To progress through the levels the engineer must demonstrate mastery of all the skills required to our coach, Ken West. It takes a lot of time but creates real expertise. Nothing great should ever come easy!

Now entering its seventh year the academy currently has 49 active graduates with a total of 68 engineers enrolled, creating real expertise right across the UK.

Our latest graduates are Connor Boyd (Boyd Hydraulics) BRONZE, Mitch Morgan (The Crane Centre) SILVER, Mark Goulden & Steve Matthews (County Cranes) SILVER. Well done to all.

Engineers take a bow

South West based engineers take a bow.

Cornwall’s SW Commercials & Bristol’s Avon Crane have both seen engineers achieve accreditation through the FASSI Engineer Training Academy this month.

SW’s Clive Anderton has achieved his BRONZE award & Avon Cranes’ Lee Tierney has achieved further success with his SILVER accreditation. Congratulations to both.

Through the FASSI training academy our field based product support engineer, Ken West, continually develops the skills of our authorised installers & service engineers. There are 69 engineers enrolled nationally with 58 having received accreditations to date.

GOLD in Scotland

It’s a GOLD for Stuart McKenzie from Alltruck Crane Repairs & Sales

Stuart became a GOLD certified installer back in late 2019 & is well practised in installation wiring, FASSI Stability Control (FSC) set-up, pre-delivery inspection and operator familiarisation.

Since 2019, with encouragement from Alltruck’s personal development program, he has worked to gain his SILVER engineer accreditation having demonstrated mastery in the diagnosis & repair of the FX500, FX900 & FSC control systems fitted to all FASSI cranes.

A holder of GOLD certified installer plus SILVER engineer automatically qualifies for our highest accolade of GOLD engineer, making Stuart one of the most highly qualified & capable engineers in the FASSI network.

Our academy is 10% training & 90% coaching to ensure the engineer can actually implement consistently what they have been taught. BRONZE for Smiths

Smiths Mechanical Services’ Daniel Christian earns his BRONZE accreditation through the FASSI Engineer Training Academy

Smiths Mechanical Services have been the FASSI authorised service partner for South Wales for over twenty years. They specialise in crane, truck & plant repairs from their Bridgend base & their heavy haulage division even operates FASSI cranes themselves.

In this time they have had some great engineers & we are pleased that Daniel Christian is continuing the tradition having achieved his BRONZE accreditation.

A BRONZE engineer is ‘fluent’ in FASSI having demonstrated mastery of the the core skills necessary for looking after FASSI cranes including: crane service & inspection; using the service laptop to view black box data & update firmware; functional understanding of the FX500, FX900, FSC & MOL systems; liaison with the FASSI UK service helpdesk team (as required) to diagnose & repair alarm codes; operator familiarisation training; an ALLMI operator license holder.

Congratulations Daniel !
