Alex Richardson completes cycling challenge for CALM

Many congratulations to Alex Richardson and team who have successfully completed their charity bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End. What an achievement!
Alex and his cycling crew completed the gruelling 919 mile journey in 10 days. They climbed 47,116 feet up hills and spent 71 hours and 25 mins in the saddle averaging 13mph.
Let’s not forget why Alex decided to embark on this epic journey. Sadly, a friend and colleague took his own life and having also struggled with his mental health Alex decided to do something positive by taking on this mammoth cycling challenge, raising money for CALM along the way. CALM stands for the Campaign Against Living Miserably.
As Alex says of his achievement:
‘What has amazed me the most is the human body. Having a strong mind gives you that ability to keep going. When you think you’re done and wonder how you’re going to get through the next day, it just jumps in to action.’
Alex is very grateful to his sponsors David Watson Transport Ltd and Tempus Cycling and to the many people that have donated. YOUR support has helped him raise nearly £3715 for CALM. However, there is still time to donate and if you can help him reach £4000 that would be double the amount he set out to raise.
