Based in Coventry, S.Porretta and Sons have been in operation for over 100 years and pride themselves on ‘customer satisfaction’ and ‘loving to do a job well’.
The family-run Company showed their experience and class when lifting the three-piece load into the recreational area for the village’s Parish Council which proved to be routine work for the talented operator, Carl Heaton. Carl executed the job with great precision and expertise demonstrating his skill with the RCS Scanreco remote control and clear knowledge of all mandatory safety procedures ensuring the job was efficiently performed to the highest standard.
The FASSI F245A.2.23 proved to be an excellent choice for the task at hand with a maximum capacity of 2,120kg when extended at 10.35m. The load consisted of:
• 1 main steel mast -5.3m x 0.3m x 0.3m- 144kg.
• 1x large pallet of heads and beams -1.65m x 0.8m x 1.5m- 346kg.
• 1x pallet of netting with small box of fixings -1.2m x 1.1m x 0.8m- 181kg
…. which came to a total mass of 671kg, well within the weight limit of the crane.
Overall, the lift proved to be a great success with both Bishop’s Tachbrook Parish Council and the company satisfied with the morning’s work.
