Alltruck's Gary BRONZE

March 2019

Alltruck's Gary Howden takes delivery of his BRONZE award from the FASSI Training Academy.

On leaving full time education Gary secured an apprenticeship with a small family run firm where he was trained and worked in service, welding, fabrication & machining. This gave him a broad knowledge and experience of various engineering disciplines. In 2008 he joined Outreach, initially installing loader cranes, but it wasn’t long before Gary was working on field service which led to working offshore. In 2016 a job at Alltruck Crane Repairs & Sales was accepted where Gary now works as a field service engineer predominantly servicing and maintaining FASSI cranes.

The FASSI training academy is a structured training and coaching program leading to Bronze, Silver and Gold skills accreditation.

Now in its fourth year the FASSI Training Academy has produced 53 graduates to date with 93 engineers enrolled. The academy is 10% training & 90% on the job coaching with graduates having to demonstrate the necessary skills over a c12 month period to achieve their hard won accreditation.
