Countdown to 2017

September 2016

Coming soon ....

London South Bank University create the FASSI 2017 calendar

The overall concept for the calendar was to photograph the cranes on location, to celebrate the scale of the factory spaces, their precision engineering and the aesthetic beauty of the cranes.

The work in the 2017 calendar has been created collaboratively by students studying on the BA(Hons) Photography degree at London South Bank University. The photography degree is based in the centre of London and is focused on the development of creatively innovative, industry focused and professional photographers. The course is led by Daniel Alexander, a photographer and educator.

This commission was undertaken by the South Bank Collective, a young and dynamic creative agency that offers photographic, film and design services as competitive rates. The South Bank collective is run by the students with the support of Daniel and undertakes a range of commissioned work for different clients.

The calendar has been one of their most exciting commissions this year, and students worked on the development of the ideas for several months before travelling to Italy to shoot them. The overall concept for the calendar was to photograph the cranes on location, to celebrate the scale of the factory spaces, their precision engineering and the aesthetic beauty of the cranes. The work was all shot ‘in camera’ with minimal post production, and the group worked collectively to design, stage, light and execute each of the shots.

The calendar will be distributed during October but in the meantime take a time lapse look behind the scenes of the Nov/Dec shoot 'Drawing like Picasso' by Billy Edmonds.
